Baranya County Innovation Award

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya awarded the Baranya County Innovation Award to our company this year.

The Pécs-based iBioScience Kft. was founded in 2019 by Károly Fehér to boost the local biotechnology industry. A big factor in her decision was that her son was diagnosed that year with type one diabetes, which, as far as we know today, is an incurable disease that requires regular medication and constant medical attention. The company has established a joint laboratory at the Szentágothai János Research Centre. Their mission is to provide genomics services to academic research groups and local companies in the biomedical field. With their state-of-the-art tools and globally unique diagnostic solutions, they have the answers to identify genetic abnormalities that cause hereditary and tumour diseases. In addition to this, when the COVID epidemic broke out, they were instrumental in speeding up COVID diagnostics in Southern Hungary by automating PCR testing.
